Thanks for the feedback, that’s really helpful. I just want to make sure I understand what you’re looking for correctly.

At the moment, there isn’t any true sorting. When you filter (for example, by Dwarf Tomatoes), you’ll see all of your tomatoes together, but they aren’t sorted in any particular order. I’m planning to add proper sorting options soon (for example A→Z, Z→A, last sowing date, and so on).

It sounds like the bigger piece here is being able to add extra information like colour, which makes total sense for things like tomatoes. Rather than adding too many fixed fields, I’m leaning toward a tag system so you could tag any seed with terms like “orange,” “striped,” or “compact.” You would then be able to filter by those tags, and they would show up automatically in the list.

It could also make sense that if you’re filtered by Dwarf Tomatoes and Orange , and you add a new variety, those filters are pre-filled automatically on the create form.

Does that sound like the kind of thing you had in mind?
