A fresh look for SeedSort and more help for every growing season

We've been busy making SeedSort more useful before you even start planning your garden. This update brings a refreshed public site, new Growing Guides, more personal frost-date guidance, and a few thoughtful improvements to the Journal and Community.

A refreshed SeedSort website

The SeedSort website has had a visual refresh, with clearer journeys through the app's key tools and a warmer, more garden-focused feel. We've also improved the public Community pages, so it is easier to explore conversations, find the latest activity, and follow a discussion from its category through to the individual topic.

Whether you are discovering SeedSort for the first time or returning to plan the next season, the site should now make it simpler to see how SeedSort can help you organise your garden and grow with confidence.

Introducing Growing Guides

Our new Growing Guides are now available to browse publicly. Each guide brings together practical crop information, including sowing and planting timings, harvest windows, care notes, common pests, and companion-planting guidance.

The guides also include seasonal calendars, giving you a clearer view of what to do and when. Search for a crop or browse the collection to find useful guidance for vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers.

Growing Guides are also available right inside SeedSort, so you can refer to them while you plan. On desktop, find Growing guides beside your user menu; on mobile, it is in the More menu. In the Garden Designer, Quick Look now draws on the same crop-guide information, making it easy to check useful details without leaving your plan.

The guides are there to support your decisions, not replace your knowledge of your own garden. You can still override SeedSort's crop information with your own data, or create completely custom crops when that is what your growing needs call for.

Frost dates that belong to your team

Gardens do not all follow the same calendar. Growing guidance starts with average UK frost-date defaults, and you can now set your team's average last and first frost dates in Team settings to tailor those timings to your local conditions.

These dates are used to make frost-sensitive timings more relevant to your garden. They are still broad estimates — local weather and microclimates always matter — but they offer a much more useful starting point than a one-size-fits-all calendar. Soon, you will also be able to set your garden location and have SeedSort automatically update your frost dates.

The Blog is now the Journal

We've renamed the Blog to the Journal: a better home for practical gardening articles, seasonal advice, and SeedSort updates. The Journal now has categories too, making it easier to browse the kind of reading you are looking for.

New Journal articles can also open a matching Community discussion, so you can share your experience, ask questions, and continue the conversation with other growers in one place.

A little easier to connect

Alongside the new Journal discussions, the Community has received a handful of small improvements to make public conversations clearer and easier to follow. You can browse categories, see recent activity, and join in when you are ready.
