Care tips
Grow hellebores in humus-rich well-drained soil in partial shade, and mulch around the crowns annually to maintain moisture and fertility. Remove old marked leaves in late winter to show off the flowers cleanly, and avoid crowding plants where air movement is poor.
Common pests
Aphids, slugs, hellebore leaf spot, black death virus on infected stock.
